Flor de Jamaica was created during my time teaching painting classes in beautiful Mazunte, Oaxaca, Mexico. Jamaica is everywhere in Mexico, and one of my favorite flowers to make tea with, or order as an agua del día at any of the comedors in rural Mexico. I started this painting as a simple exercise with my students, and throughout my travels, Flor de Jamaica evolved into a layered and unique painting, that grew with more detail whenever arrived to a new place and sat down with her. Flor de Jamaica represents my love for flowers, nature, and the warm and welcoming country of Mexico that has woven itself into part of my soul.

They come printed on high quality, textured watercolor paper.
